This bagger attachment worked as expected and no issues with the power and slope handling. The bags are on the smallish side but are very easy to change out when full.

Nice but could be improved!, May 31, 2011

Hello:

When I was about to buy this item, I read from others about their experiences with it. One mentioned something regarding the gasket that will come off the bin when it was open in order to pull the bins out and discard the grass. Well, I’ve noticed one thing about it that will prevent this gasket from coming off. All you need is to slightly lift the cover, just above the trays. If this are overloaded you may lose some in the process of removing the bins but other that that, the gasket will stay in place…for the most part.

The one thing I’m not liking about this gasket is that it does not seal the tube that comes from the cutting deck into the bin and if windy, dust and grass will camouflage your clothes in no time. My “remedy” for it has been the following idea:

GO to the nearest Dollar Store and purchase a “Float Noodle”…or you can go to your local Home Depot or Lowes (any hardware store really) and buy the pipe anti-freezing foam tubes. You know, those black soft foam tubes you can use to protect exposed water pipes around the house to prevent them from freezing in winter time!!! Well, you take one of them; measure the circumference of the hole where the gasket goes; remove the gasket out of the way and save it just in case. Cut the foam noodle to the right length then install it. Try & get the one with adhesive on the edges; clean the areas where the gasket was so the adhesive from the foam tube sticks well.

Now it will be better if you can install the foam tube with the plastic suction tube installed. It will be a little difficult but will prevent you reaping the newly installed foam seal due to very tight fitment. Push the foam tube with your fingers; do not use anything else that could reap it. You can try installing the plastic tube after the “noodle” is installed, using “grease” when attempting to push it thru the newly installed foam seal…good luck!

Other than this, this kit is great…I do agree with the gentleman who posted…”…the bins should be another 4-6 inches longer…” but it is still a great product and work as prescribed!

Now this is an idea that I’ve working on but have not been able to test it…I’ve installed it AFTER my last yard work but did not get to test it. I will be using it in the next few days and will post the results and possibly some pictures, but if you do it before me, please enter your coments and experiences!

Good product; but….., July 24, 2010

As in most products, there are good things, bad things, and things that could go either way; so I’ll start with the good:

Good:

– Easy to install: Within an hour of starting installation I was out in the yar mowing. The hardest part of the installation was getting the blade bolt loose so I could put the new blade on.

– Easy to empty: Fast, easy and almost no mess.

Bad:

– Upper chute rubber seal: This is the piece of rubber gasket that seal the upper chute to the top of the collector. I won’t call this useless, but is is almost useless. The 3rd time I emptied the collector, the gasket came loose from the top and it could only be replaced by taking the chutes apart and reassembling them with the gasket installed. At first I thought to heck with it, the realized that grass clippings were being thrown all over the running engine, and my back. Hopefully they will come out with a better system.

Other things:

– The bags could be deeper. There would be plenty of clearance between them and the ground if they were 8″ longer.

– The fullness indicator: Doesn’t work. It is supposed to spin if the bags are not full, and stop when they are. Mine doesn’t spin unless you do it with your fingers.

Would I buy this again? Yes I would, even with the rubber gasket issue.
